Back in SD.
LA tomorrow night-Sunday night.
I love you all, but I can’t wait to get back to NY. That is where I feel welcome, accepted, alive, spontaneous…that’s where I belong.
My uberhot broker that looks and sounds a lot like Edward Burns, but is really sweet and has no idea how handsome he actually is because he’s so humble:
“I could see you in a sorority, well, not IN a sorority, but like, ‘listen, bitches.”
Can I just say how much I love that people can see strength in me immediately? Also love that he can see the control freak in me! I think he was basically trying to say that I don’t let anyone fuck my with- that, that is very true. I was out with a friend on Friday and he told me I was normal and not crazy.
People always comment on how calm, cool, and collected I am. Um, no. I’m really not. But no matter how afarid I am, I still follow through…well, except when it comes to boys- I still suck at that.
It feels great that people see me as a strong woman. I do make an effort to be an educated, empowered, independent woman…seems it shines through : )
ME!!!!!!!!!!! What a great birthday present! Wow is wild Kristen going to have fun in this city! We are so close to so much effing great stuff. Plus, no one knows me here… ;)

I’ve never asked my family to do anything for me. They ask me to do everything.
The one time I do ask them- for something as simple as printing out an email and faxing it to me, they completely let me down and don’t come through. All I needed was for my brother to print the application, leave it on the counter for my mom, and have her fax it to the broker. NOPE. I should have seen this coming figuring graduating college and getting into NYU was no big deal to them. They didn’t come to graduation- hell, there wasn’t even a dinner OR a damn congratulatory $2 card.
This is why I never ask them. I am so angry right now. The last time I asked either one of them for a favor was probably to pass the butter at Christmas dinner. They’re both so wrapped up in their owns lives, they couldn’t careless about mine. But, you know what? I’m the one moving to NY and continuing my education- they’re both back in our home town (aka Hell), doing nothing. I’m the one gaining knowledge and experience. I just have to remind myself I’m about to be 3,000 miles away from all of them. That might sound insensitive, but they bring me down and I can’t deal with them most of the time. Once a year visits for 48 hours are all I can handle. I have no idea how I am related to them.

Someone forgot my birthday yesterday, which made my decision easier.

the other day it was storming here- lightning, thunder, pouring rain. I could’ve taken the subway home, but I cannot remember the last time I felt rain, so I walked home in the rain, without an umbrella. It felt great. Looking forward to fall…winter…spring…summer is all we have in SD :( People don’t believe me that the perfect weather in SoCal gets boring. Then again, I like variety and need crazy spontaneity.
